A Guide to Tiered Pricing
Tiered pricing is a strategy that can help you generate more revenue while also fully meeting your clients’ needs. We’ll walk you through building your three tiers of service so you can implement this on your next proposal.

The image above shows a sample of the tiers you can produce.
Here are some examples for other pros: interior designers can add in colour consultation as an added service, landscaping pros could oer selection of outdoor furnishings, or pros who sell materials like countertops or cabinets could sell warranties on their products.
1) Brainstorm all the services your business could possibly offer a client. Think, what could you do for someone with an unlimited budget?
2) Group services with those from other professionals. What can you cross-sell or bundle to create a cohesive, complete project package? Now that you’ve listed all the possible services you could perform for a client, it’s time to package them. Your packages need to be simple enough that clients can see the value associated with each. There are two strategies: creating tiers based on phases of work or the level of service a client desires. For per-phase tiers, you can divide this up into various states from design to construction.
3) What different phases of a typical project do you take on? Do you handle design, construction, or both?
4) Label your tiers after the phases and list the components that make up each phase.
5) Under each package, use a check mark to show which components are included with that specific package. For level of service tiers, you’ll divide up your services into a good, better, and best package.
6) Decide which components should be included in each package. The Gold option should be your full service package, the middle Silver option has most of what would be considered full service, and the smallest Bronze package should be the lowest that would still yield value to the client. Using the box below, list all of your possible services under the components column:
